About
Although social distancing measures are still in place, we hope to continue to share our passion for piano and music by making some of our teaching resources remote! On this page, you will find links to videos and activity sheets that accommodate a wide range of abilities. Our videos lessons do not have to be followed strictly in order, but we encourage parents and educators to help our students along by creating a schedule that may work for them. Below, you will see a brief description of the different levels to give you a head-start on which one to start on!
If you have any questions regarding the content, or anything about the club in general, please do not hesitate to reach out to us through our contact page or send us an email at montrealhcpp@gmail.com.
Level 1
If this is your very first time playing the piano, this is the level for you! We will be taking you through all the basics like sitting with proper posture, learning the name of the notes on the piano, as well as introducing concepts such as rhythm and clefs.
Level 2
In this level, students will be expected to be familiar with the white note names on the piano, and begin to progress towards reading simple melodies and playing them. New technical skills will also be developed, such as learning to play scales and triads. Some optional ear training will also be available for those who may be interested in developing their listening as well.
Level 3
In Level 3, students will begin to add variations in tempo and articulations to their playing, as well as become even more familiar with reading the musical staff.
